You make funny videos and you want to share them with your friends. But the video file is too large to upload to YouTube and Facebook, or it would take a long time to send it through Email and Skype. Don’t worry, and here is a step by step guide will show you how to compress the video, this will highly reduce your video file size with just a little quality loss.
The tool you need is this Video Compress, it has both Windows version and Mac version. I have tried many video tool to compress videos, freeware and shareware, and this one works fairly well, it’s safe and clean without spyware and virus. I will take the Video Compress for Windows as example in this tutorial, the method to compress video in Mac is almost the same. Just make sure you get the right version.

Step1. Import the videos you want to compress into the Video Compress
Click “Add Files” button on the top left corner and select the videos you want to compress. Also, you can simply drag and drop them into the primary window. The added videos will display as thumbnails on the left item tray. This Video Compress supports batch conversion, you can add several video files at a time.
Step2. Customize the video parameter to compress the videos
Click format image on the right screen to choose from an array of output formats. You can select MP4. MOV, or FLV that features efficient encoding, or select your original video format.
Click Settings button on the bottom right corner of the main window to reveal the settings window. In the Quality menu bar, check out “Small Size” option and let everything Smart Fit.
If needed, you can also customize bit rate, frame rate, resolution, etc. to further compress your files. Generally speaking, lower value usually means the lower video quality, but you can view the original file information to play a balance between file size and video quality.
Step3. Start to compress videos
Now you can check the estimated file size in the main window. Comparing with the original file size, you’ll find it has cut down so much size. Magic! If satisfied, click Convert to start saving and compressing the videos files.
After done, click “Open Folder” and you will get a much smaller video file. That’s all, it couldn’t be easier to compress videos like that. Even you are computer newbie can handle it, enjoy my guide.
