Rokid Glasses 2 Review

Choosing guide: Before buying Rokid Glasses 2 from China, verify the exact model, English operation, regional services and current firmware with your own phone and account. It is separate from Rokid Color. Choose by demonstrated tasks and complete order cost; wait when the feature you need depends on an unverified update or overseas compatibility.

Buying Rokid Glasses 2 from China makes sense only if the exact device can perform your essential task with your phone, account and language. A seller’s international shipping option does not establish those capabilities. This guide separates what the sources establish from what an English-speaking buyer should ask a seller to demonstrate.

Confirm which Rokid glasses you are buying

Rokid Glasses 2 is the camera-equipped AI model with a monochrome green display. Rokid Color is a separate full-color product. That distinction appears in Ifanr’s launch experience report, whose author says they used Glasses 2 for a week before launch. Color is not simply a frame-color option.

There is another naming trap: Rokid Max 2. Rokid’s security support table lists Max 2 as an AR product with model RA301, while Glasses 2 has RV301, RV302, RV303, RV304 and RV305 identifiers. It separately lists the earlier Rokid Glasses as RV101 and RV102. These identifiers help check a listing, but do not by themselves identify a regional firmware version.

Ask for a photograph of the box label and a screenshot of the device’s system information. Match both to the invoice. Do not accept a listing titled only “Rokid 2,” or apply an older model’s compatibility advice to the new one.

If your actual goal is a portable screen for a connected device, compare that category separately. Our XREAL 1S display guide covers screen stabilization and display modes, a different buying task from choosing an AI camera companion.

Glasses 2 or Color: choose the task first

In Jiedian Finance’s interview with Rokid founder Zhu Mingming, he positions Glasses 2 around tools such as prompting, translation and navigation, and Color around content, social use and entertainment. Those are the company’s intended roles, not measured performance results.

Your main task Product to investigate Evidence to request before ordering
Read prompts or translation while keeping your phone away Glasses 2 Your own English script or language pair running on the exact unit
Take occasional first-person photos and video Glasses 2 Original exported files in your required orientation and resolution
View color-dependent interfaces or video Color A working demonstration, confirmed delivery terms and the apps you need
Use it for essential work immediately Either, only after verification Current firmware performing the full task, without a future-update promise

Our assessment: investigate Glasses 2 for a specific utility task. Consider waiting for Color only when color itself changes that task. A full-color announcement is not enough reason to postpone a useful purchase, and an attractive Glasses 2 specification is not enough reason to import an unverified configuration.

Ebrun’s launch reporting, republished by Sina, describes November shipping or presales for Glasses 2 and Ring, and a target of April 2027 for Color delivery after ecosystem development. These are reported plans as of the check date, not guaranteed delivery dates for an overseas order.

Separate advertised features from demonstrated software

Rokid’s Chinese Glasses 2 page advertises call translation, all-day recall and video modes including 4K at 30 fps, 2K at 60 fps and 720p at 120 fps. It also lists a 263 mAh battery and magnetic prescription inserts.

However, Ifanr’s pre-release experience identifies 120 fps recording, real-time call translation and all-day recall as awaiting OTA updates. Its author reports that 4K capture was limited to portrait 9:16 at 30 fps on the unit they used.

Treat the official page as the advertised feature set and that experience report as evidence about one pre-release software state. Neither proves what firmware an importer will deliver. For a feature that determines your purchase, request its firmware version, an uncut demonstration and an original exported result where applicable. A promised update belongs outside your purchase justification until verified.

Battery capacity also does not answer how long your workload will run. Ask for a timed sample using your intended mix of recording, translation and display use. For fit, test the glasses with the actual prescription insert you would wear. Ifanr describes more comfortable nose pads and clearer lenses, but one writer’s experience cannot establish your fit or all-day tolerance.

Will a China-market unit work in English outside China?

The sources checked do not establish full English-language and overseas service compatibility for a China-market Glasses 2 unit. That is an unresolved verification question, not evidence that the product cannot work abroad.

There is an international app: Rokid’s US App Store listing for Hi Rokid describes connecting to Rokid Glasses and managing settings, media and AI services. Its release history discusses region settings. The listing alone does not confirm that every Glasses 2 China SKU can use every advertised service with that app.

The distinction matters to prospective buyers. One Rokid community thread explicitly asks about European availability and existing-app compatibility. These are reader questions, not verified reports of Glasses 2 compatibility or failures.

Before paying, send the seller your country, phone model, operating system and three essential tasks. Request these checks:

  1. Setup: show the exact companion app and version, account registration requirements and successful pairing. Confirm whether your available phone number and app-store region are supported.
  2. English operation: demonstrate the glasses interface, voice commands and your translation pair separately. An English phone app does not answer all three questions.
  3. Services: name the assistant, navigation or meeting tool you need. Ask whether it works in your country, what account it requires and whether any fee applies. Do not treat a China launch demonstration as proof of overseas availability.
  4. Recording and data: demonstrate exporting a photo, video or meeting note to your phone. Ask where recordings are processed, how to delete them and whether your use can run without cloud access.
  5. Support: obtain written return and repair terms for that exact SKU and destination. Clarify who handles a failed activation or missing promised function, and who pays return shipping.

A demonstration on a different model or a seller’s Chinese account leaves the key question unresolved. If remote verification is incomplete, use a purchase arrangement that allows the same checks with your own setup before you commit to keeping it.

Compare the complete order, not the headline price

Jiedian Finance reports a China launch price of CNY 3,699 for black Glasses 2, CNY 3,849 for tortoiseshell and CNY 599 for the second-generation charging capsule accessory. Using those reported prices, black Glasses 2 plus that accessory totals CNY 4,298 before other costs. This is arithmetic from launch prices, not a current checkout quote or an overseas retail price.

Get a written total for the device, prescription insert if needed, selected accessories, shipping and any destination charges. Ask which items are included. Do not budget on a subsidy or promotional price unless the seller confirms your eligibility and the final order amount.

Color pricing needs particular care: Caiwen’s on-site launch report lists CNY 4,999 for the black version, while Ifanr’s report lists a CNY 4,599 starting price. This guide does not resolve that discrepancy into a guaranteed price. Use an exact configuration and written seller quote when comparing it with Glasses 2.

When to buy, and when to wait

Buying checklist: confirm the model, verify the current software and test your English phone and account setup. AI-assisted editorial collage using Rokid imagery.

Consider buying Glasses 2 when the seller can demonstrate your essential task on the exact model, you can verify your own phone and account setup, and the complete cost and return route are acceptable. For example, a prompting-focused purchase should depend on your script loading and displaying correctly, not on an unrelated future AI feature.

Wait for stronger evidence if your reason to buy is a pending feature, an unconfirmed overseas service or a deadline the seller cannot commit to. If color is essential, assess Color on its own delivery and software evidence.

Keep the model label, firmware version, seller’s written answers and sample outputs with your order. Together they give you a concrete acceptance checklist when the glasses arrive. The purchase decision should change when those facts change, rather than when another launch summary appears.
