The tool you need is this All-in-one iPod converter, it includes DVD to iPod Converter and Video to iPod Converter. I tried and reviewed about 20 iPod converters including freeware and shareware. The reason I recommended this one is because it’s easy to use and supports copyright protected DVD, even the latest protected DVD. It embeds an iPod manager that can copy music and video from iPod back to computer, it’s really useful when you lost iTunes library, no iPod converter has this feature.

Step1. Download and install the DVD iPod Converter Suite, put DVD disc into your computer. Run the software and click “Load DVD” to add DVD files from your DVD drive. You also can click “File” button to import ISO or IFO file from your computer hard disk.
Regular DVD movie has several chapters, you can convert all chapters into one mp4 video, after you load DVD files into the software, you will see an option named “Merge into one file”, click it, and then you will get one file. If you only want certain chapters from the DVD, just click the chapters you want to convert.
This software supports selecting subtitle and audio; click the drop-down list to select Subtitle and Audio you want.
This iPod Converter supports all series of iPod: you can click the “Profile” combo-box to select proper profile according to your iPod type. The “iPod Video MPEG-4” profile works pretty well for all iPods.
You can also use this software to extract audio track from DVD to MP3, AAC, WAV or M4A audio, it would work on all mp3 players such as iPod Shuffle, Zune, Phone, iRiver, Archos, etc.
