Photoshop is regarded as the ultimate in photo-editing for the PC and Mac and Adobe were quick to translate it into a mobile device App, calling it Photoshop Express and making it a free to download. While it bears the name of its big brother, this App is actually fairly limited in what you can achieve in terms of photo manipulation. You can carry out basics such as crop, flip, rotate and straighten your images, and there are a number of photo-filters that can be applied. You can also apply changes to exposure and saturation but be careful – you can only undo one step so if you change the exposure say, and then change the saturation levels, your photo is stuck with the new exposure level.
There is the option to extend Photoshop Express’s functionality, but you have to pay for it, as regular pop-ups will keep telling you, but even doing this will only add three features – the ability to reduce noise, a self-timer for your camera and an Auto Review function. Photoshop express is a good, basic, program that is capable of enhancing photos in a fairly rudimentary way, but its lack of the more subtle elements may leave many exasperated. If you don’t like to use iPhone Photoshop to edit photos on your iPhone, other options are available. Check out the top 5 iPhone Photoshop alternatives.
